This component is added to the existing CC family FIA_UAU, and covers use of a password for

authentication.

Component levelling

FIA_UAU_EXT.2 allows for specification of password based and other authentication mechanisms.

The following actions could be considered for the management functions in FMT:

a) Resetting of the expired passwords.

Audit: FIA_UAU_EXT.2

The following actions should be auditable if FAU_GEN Security audit data generation is included in the

PP/ST:

a) Minimal: Unsuccessful use of the authentication mechanism;

b) Basic: All use of the authentication mechanism.
