This family is added to the class FIA, and deals with the specification of rules for password composition.

FIA_PMG_EXT.1 requires that passwords should conform to rules that are configurable by the system

administrator.

FIA_PMG_EXT.1.1 The TSF shall provide the following password management capabilities for

administrative passwords:

a) Passwords shall be able to be composed of any combination of upper and lower

case letters, numbers, and the following special characters [selection: “!”, “@”, “#”,

“$”, “%”, “^”, “&”, “*”, “(“, “)”,[assignment: other characters]];

b) Minimum password length shall be settable by the security administrator, and

support passwords of 15 characters or greater.
